Semapaw Park Dog Park
South Australia

Semaphore Park Reserve affectionately known as Semapaw Park, this coastal haven is perfect for dogs of all shapes and sizes. The park features two distinct areas: Sniff Space and the Semapaw Park Active Area.

Sniff Space at Semapaw Park
Sniff Space is designed to create a sensory off-lead adventure trail for your dog. It encourages dogs to sniff and explore, providing a relaxing and enriching stroll for shyer or older dogs. This area is not for play but for calm exploration.

Active Management Required
In Sniff Space, active management is essential. You may need to call your dog away from others or encourage them to explore the landscape. This is especially important if your dog is used to playing off-lead with others. Sniff Space serves as a middle ground between hyperactivity and exhaustion, helping dogs relax without hours of fetch or play. A short off-lead wander in Sniff Space can be a great way to break up an on-lead walk, allowing dogs to sniff and explore at their own pace.

Effective Control and Supervision
Please ensure you can see your dog at all times and are able to call them away from another dog. Dogs must be under effective control at all times. Children and dogs must be supervised, and this area is not suitable for children’s play or ball games.

Transitioning Between Spaces
Moving between Sniff Space and the Semapaw Park Active Area requires care. Start with Semapaw Park for active play and then transition to Sniff Space to help your dog calm down and relax. This approach helps dogs unwind after a play session and prevents hyperactivity in Sniff Space.

Semapaw Park Active Area
Semapaw Park Active Area is an off-lead play zone for confident, sociable dogs over 6 months old. This space is ideal for dogs that love to run, play, dig, sniff, and explore together. While this is a play area, it is not a free puppy-sitting service. You must keep an eye on your dog to ensure everyone’s safety.

Play and Supervision
Dogs in Semapaw Park must be under effective control, within sight, and responsive to calls. Actively manage your dog’s play with others and call them away if play becomes inappropriate. Check out the Dog Park Etiquette signs for more information on appropriate play. Supervise children and dogs at all times and ensure children’s play or ball games are conducted in other suitable reserves.
