With a focus on art and design, QT Hotels & Resorts offer a personalised guest experience, unforgettable dining and a signature touch of quirk. Now one of Australia’s most loved and dynamic hotel brands, the group includes QT Newcastle, QT Sydney, QT Bondi, QT Canberra, QT Melbourne, QT Gold Coast, QT Perth, QT Wellington, QT Queenstown and QT Auckland.
QT Sydney has been crafted within the historic Gowings and State Theatre buildings. This boutique Sydney accommodation blends Gothic, Art Deco, and Italianate influenced architecture in a celebration of the old world appeal. With its edgy intrigue and city swing, the hotel has become part of Sydney’s dynamic blueprint. The hotel boasts a neo-French bistro, Parlour, a bar and grill inspired by New York’s Little Italy, Gowings, QTea High Tea by Adriano Zumbo, and the ultimate pamper destination – spaQ.
Why did you become dog friendly?
At QT we love to recognise and celebrate every individual, and at our hotels we encourage our guests to be free to be who they want to be. We thought it was only natural we extend this to our four legged friends and give them a chance to live their best lives at QT.
We’d been receiving enquiries from our guests requesting pet friendly rooms. We know it can be stressful leaving dogs at home while you go away, so we wanted to alleviate this stress for our guests by offering fur-friendly stays.
What other features are included within the room?
Every pet friendly room comes with a pooch approved mini bar and designer bedding.
Can I bring my own bedding?
You can absolutely BYOB! Though if you forget, every Pup Yeah! Room comes with designer bedding by Nice Digs.
Dogs can’t eat the same food as humans… Has this been taken into consideration?
Our decadent in room dog menu is unlike any other pet-friendly experience. The dishes incorporate the same restaurant quality produce you’ll find in our signature restaurants. We’ve even collaborated on a vet approved vegan menu for QT Bondi.
Our Head of Treats, Nic Wood and Jiwon Do undertook extensive research when designing the menu, health was a big priority! You’ll notice our Pup Yeah! Menu has minimal fat, next to no sugar and is completely balanced. If your pooch does have any dietaries, let us know and our chefs can prepare them something special.
I’m allergic to dogs! This means I can no longer stay at your hotel!
As part of our Pup Yeah offering, every room receives a thorough clean following every puppy stay to ensure future guests can enjoy our beautiful spaces. We have a special puppy levy in place which ensures post-puppy rooms get extra cleaning loving, above our already stringent cleaning procedures. If you do have a dog allergy, you can also inform our team and they’ll be sure you aren’t allocated a pet friendly room.
How will you control dogs barking?
We expect all our furry guests to be well trained and well behaved. There also has to be a human present with their pup in room at all times. If a dog does become restless, our team can recommend a couple of local dog-friendly spaces for walkies. If the owner isn’t able to control their pooch’s vocals, they’ll be asked to leave the hotel.
Are there any restrictions?
This package is for dogs 20kg and under. While we personally love pooches of all shapes and sizes, in order to ensure all of our QT hotels could be dog friendly, we had to standardise the weight of our furry guests to ensure we could accommodate in all of our room types.
We also ask owners leash their dog at all times when in permitted public areas and that their fur baby is never left alone in the room.
