What is Food Provenance?
Food provenance refers to the origin or source of our food, derived from the French word provenir, meaning “to come from.” Over the past decade, the importance of food provenance has grown significantly. Consumers are increasingly demanding transparency about where their food is grown, raised, or caught, and how it is produced. This desire for transparency now extends to the food we give our pets.
Introducing Provenance Pet Food
Provenance Pet Food was born out of a personal need for high-quality, healthy dog treats. My husband and I, inspired by our experience as new pet parents to our English Springer Spaniel puppy, Shadow, wanted a treat that was not only nutritious but also irresistible in scent and flavor to aid in training and reward.
Our first recipe, Beef & Sardine, was an instant success. Shadow’s responsiveness to recall improved dramatically, proving that we had found a winning formula.
