The leafy surroundings of the Hardwicke Street Reserve links West Launceston to the Duck Reach Power Station. There are unsealed trails through the reserve and some of these approaching Duck Reach are steep in places.

There is a fenced off-leash dog exercise area at the end of Hardwicke St which leads into an on-leash area but the remainder of the reserve does not allow dogs. The photo shown on the right is taken within the fenced off-leash dog exercise area.
