After extensive research we built the kennels in 2002. We constructed them as though we were going to house our own pets in them (and we sometimes do). They are fully insulated and air conditioned, with everyone having their own private room, their own run leading outside where they can “talk” to their neighbour, or simply go and have a lie-down should they want to.

The cats don’t miss out either, each cat has its own room with shelves, cubbies, litter tray, (and we use a biodegradable litter that is reprocessed through our very efficient worm farm, and put to good use). We don’t have minuscule cages or carry crates, and we don ‘ t charge a fortune for fancy rooms with TV, but we do have heating and cooling. We also have the “Presidential Suites” for those families with more than one cat.

We cater for long or short term guests, (we have even looked after pets whose humans were posted to Afghanistan for twelve months!!)

Our feeding policy is to try to feed what ever you feed them at home, but if you have a special dietry requirement, it might be a good idea to bring it with you, because some products simply are not available to us in the country.

In short, we are a small family owned and operated business, with a “homey” atmosphere even to the extent that Piers is the only bloke you will ever meet that really does have his own bed in the dog house. This comes out when there is bad weather or someone that needs special attention. Medication is certainly not an issue at all, with Robyn’s twenty years experience as a vet nurse.

Vets, even from outside Beechworth leave their animals with us, because they have confidence in knowing that their pet is safe, secure, and comfortable.
