Catology was founded in 2018 with a mission to help cat guardians address and resolve behavioural issues, bringing harmony back to their homes. Too often, cats are abandoned at shelters or even euthanized due to “bad” behaviours that, with the right approach, training, and patience, can be corrected or significantly improved.
If you love your cat but are struggling to manage their behaviour, we encourage you to reach out to us and explore how we can assist you. Chris, the founder of Catology, has always had a deep connection with animals. Growing up in a home filled with pets, he aspired from a young age to become a veterinarian. During high school, he took the initiative to approach a local vet and asked to observe consultations and learn from the experience. To his delight, they welcomed him, and he began attending sessions twice a week after school, eventually being offered a job caring for cats in their cattery.
Though Chris’s career path led him to the corporate world instead of veterinary medicine, his passion for animals never waned. He and his partner, Brittany, fostered several litters of kittens and adopted three cats of their own—the “Tabby Triplets” (Anakin, Leia, and Charlotte). As the Triplets grew, they began to exhibit typical aggressive behaviours. Chris dedicated countless hours to researching cat behaviour and experimenting with different solutions. Through persistence and patience, he was able to restore peace among the Triplets and realised that many other cat owners likely face similar challenges. Having witnessed cats being medicated or even euthanized for similar behaviours during his time at the vet clinic, Chris recognised that these issues could be addressed more effectively.
Chris decided to pursue his passion by completing a Diploma of Animal Behaviour Science and Technology, with a specialization in Felines, through the Companion Animal Sciences Institute. With this expertise, he left the corporate world to help other cat guardians achieve peaceful, harmonious relationships with their cats. Chris has also authored an eBook titled It’s Not Your Cat, It’s You! This resource provides indoor cat owners with essential knowledge to keep their cats happy, prevent problem behaviours, and address any issues that may arise.
