Johanna Higgs has been working as a human physiotherapist since 2005 when she obtained a Bachelor of Physiotherapy from Otago University in New Zealand and then a Postgraduate Certificate in Acupuncture for Physiotherapy.
Having worked in private practice and with sports teams in New Zealand, Brisbane and Adelaide she decided to combine her love of animals with her work and began a Post Graduate Diploma in Veterinary Physiotherapy through the University of Liverpool in 2019 and has now begun her master’s in veterinary Physiotherapy.
She loves all creatures great and small and believes there is just as much need for physiotherapy for animals as people.
Animal Physiotherapy Adelaide is dedicated to improving the livelihood and function of all pets and people.
A session with our physiotherapist includes taking a thorough history about your pet or yourself, gait analysis, physical assessment of joints, muscles and neurological systems, any hands-on treatment that may be required and development of a tailored rehabilitation and exercise program.
We do not require a referral from a veterinarian to see your dog, cat, or horse however we do strive to work closely with your pet’s veterinary team to ensure the best possible outcomes. A doctor’s referral is also not required for any human physiotherapy.
